Description
This cart shed, located about 10 metres southeast of the Miller's House at Cotehele Mill, dates from the mid to late 19th century and has seen few alterations since its construction. It is built from slatestone rubble with brick dressings and features a slate roof with gable ends.
The cart shed is designed with two storeys. The ground floor includes two round-arched brick openings that house double doors. On the first floor, there is a central two-light casement window, flanked by small two-pane lights on either side. An external stone stair on the left side provides access to a loft door, which is topped by a cambered brick arch. Granite is used in the angle between the stair and the cart shed. Attached to the right side is a single-storey outhouse that has a door and two windows at the front, along with a five-light window. There are also two doors in the right gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
