Description
The game larder, located approximately 20 meters to the rear of Trelissick House, dates from the late 19th century. It features brick walls and a polygonal dry Delabole slate roof topped with a ventilator. The structure has an octagonal, single-room plan with a door on the west side and original windows that still show traces of the original zinc gauze used to keep flies out. Inside, there is a central octagonal post with evidence of projecting wooden game hangers, and the roof is lined with tongue and groove boarding. This building is an attractive and complete example of an uncommon type.
