Description

PAUL SW 42 NW 5/2 Barn and stables at approximately - 15 metres north west of Bollogas Farmhouse GV II

Barn with cartshed and stables and adjoining stables. Circa early-mid C19 and late C19. Painted rubble walls and some slate hanging to barn, granite rubble with granite dressings to later stables. Grouted scantle slate hipped roof to barn, corrugated asbestos to stables. Plan: Rectangular barn with central first floor opposing loading/winnowing doorways. Later C19 stables adjoining set back at an angle at the right-hand end. C20 extension at rear. Exterior: 2 storey barn, single-storey stables. Irregular east front. Barn front has wide waggon doorway spanned by timber lintels left of middle flanked by stable doorways and 2 pairs of doors under slate hanging on the right. First floor has central loading doorway, window opening towards the left with probably original 2- Light half-shuttered window and window with loading hatch towards the right. Old wedged doors. Stables have slatted doors. Later stables on the right have symmetrical 2 window front with central doorway. Original doors and windows. Interior not inspected.
