Description

PAUL TRESVENNACK SW 42 NW 5/20 Tresvennack Farmhouse including - front garden wall GV II Farmhouse, including adjoining front garden wall. Datestone 1772. Granite. Slate hanging at left-hand end wall, ashlar front, otherwise granite rubble with granite, dressings. Grouted scantle slate roofs (replaced with concrete tiles at the front), granite coped gable ends. Brick chimneys over the gable ends. Plan: Double depth plan, overall L-shaped including probably slightly later service wing at right angles behind the right-hand side. Rear left-hand room is possibly a later C18 or C19 extension. 2 fairly large front rooms with cross passage between leading to stair hall at the rear. Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3 window south front with doorway central to fenestration. Wider (partly blocked) ground floor windows have flat arches with voussoirs, lower headed doorway has granite lintel. Circa early C20 door and 4-pane horned sashes. Windows of similar date in original openings to other elevations. Interior: Probably original dog-leg stair with turned newel post and balusters hidden. Otherwise circa late C19 carpentry and joinery details. First floor and roof structure not inspected.
