Description
Tresvennack Farmhouse, which includes an adjoining front garden wall, dates from 1772. It is constructed of granite, with slate hanging on the left-hand end wall, an ashlar front, and granite rubble elsewhere, featuring granite dressings. The roofs are covered with grouted scantle slate, although the front has been replaced with concrete tiles, and the gable ends are coped with granite. Brick chimneys are located over the gable ends. The farmhouse has a double depth plan, forming an overall L-shape, which likely includes a slightly later service wing at right angles behind the right side. The rear left-hand room may be a later 18th or 19th-century extension. Inside, there are two fairly large front rooms with a cross passage between them, leading to a stair hall at the rear.
The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical three-window south front with a doorway that is central to the fenestration. The wider ground floor windows, which are partly blocked, have flat arches with voussoirs, while the lower headed doorway has a granite lintel. The door is from the early 20th century, and the windows are four-pane horned sashes of a similar date in their original openings on other elevations. The interior likely contains an original dog-leg stair with a turned newel post and balusters that are hidden, along with late 19th-century carpentry and joinery details. The first floor and roof structure have not been inspected.
