Description
The Front Lodge is a lodge for Trewidden House, dating from the late 19th century. It features granite rubble walls with rusticated granite dressings and steep dry Delabole slate roofs that have projecting eaves and verges. There are lateral brick stacks at the rear and right-hand sides, along with two original octagonal chimney pots that have spiral moulding. The building has an irregular three-room T-shaped plan, with the main reception room located in a wing that is at right angles to the front, and a diagonally-set entrance porch in the left-hand angle. It is two storeys tall, with most first-floor rooms situated in the roof space. The shaped and pierced barge boards have apex finials, and there is an oriel bay window on the ground floor in the middle of the gable end on the right. Other openings are fitted with two-light casements, and the original door is located within the porch. The interior has not been inspected.
