Description
Rose Lodge is a lodge to Tredrea Manor, dating from the early 19th century. It features ashlar stonework over a plinth and shallow arches, topped with a hipped asbestos slate roof that has projecting eaves. A central rendered brick chimney with two flues is present. The building has a plan consisting of two rooms with a baffle entry at the front and two small rooms under an integral outshut at the rear. Designed in the Gothic style, it is a single-storey structure with a symmetrical two-window front facing southeast. The central doorway is pointed arched and has a ledged door. The original two-light windows have pointed arched lights with small panes and vertical glazing bars that transition into intersecting tracery. There is a similar window in the middle of the left-hand side wall. The interior has not been inspected. This lodge is notable for being a rare example that remains small, unextended, and unaltered, retaining its original attractive windows.
