Description
The gate-piers and flanking walls at the road entrance, located approximately 200 meters west-north-west of Trewoon, date from the late 17th century. They are constructed from granite ashlar with granite dressings. The wide gateway is flanked by square-on-plan piers that resemble tall square columns. Each pier features an entablature with a moulded architrave, an ashlar frieze, and a cyma moulded cornice, all topped with ball finials on conical plinths. The flanking walls have moulded granite copings. The left-hand pier was partly rebuilt in the 20th century.
