Description
The gate piers and walls at the south entrance to Trewan Hall date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from granite and slatestone rubble. The inner pair of gate piers are square in plan, made of granite monoliths approximately 2 meters high, featuring shaped necking and ball finials. There is a lower slatestone rubble wall with granite coping that sweeps forward to the right and left, measuring about 8 meters long. The terminal piers are made of rusticated granite ashlar, larger in square plan, and have swept caps and ball finials. The wall on the left has been rebuilt in the 20th century.
