Description
Harbour View Pentewen is a pair of houses that were remodeled in the mid and late 19th century. They feature ashlar stone fronts with rubbed brick segmental arches over the ground and first floor windows, while the rear and sides are built of rubble. The houses have a slate roof with hipped ends and a single depth plan.
The structure is two stories high with an attic and has a symmetrical five-window front. The ground and first floors have late 19th century or early 20th century sash windows, each with two panes, flanking a central pair of doors. The left door is panelled, while the right door is panelled and partly glazed, both set in panelled reveals. The outer doorcases are adorned with fluted pilasters and a shared canopy supported by brackets. There is a central blocked window on the first floor.
Two gabled dormers, featuring slate hung sides, barge boards, and double sash windows from around the late 19th century, are also present. At the front, there is a low granite wall with three granite gatepiers topped with caps and ball finials, although the railings and gates have been removed. The interiors have not been inspected, but the houses are included for their group value.
