Description
This is a mid-19th century terrace of three cottages located on Fore Street in Lanteglos-by-Fowey and Polruan. The cottages are constructed of roughly dressed stone with rubble side and rear walls. They have brick segmental arches over all openings and an asbestos slate roof with gable ends, featuring brick stacks. The buildings are two rooms deep and present a regular three-window façade.
No. 29, the cottage on the left, has eight-pane hornless sash windows to both the ground and first floors, alongside a panelled door on its right side. The central and right-hand cottages (Nos. 27 and 25) share the same pattern of hornless eight-pane sashes on both floors, with panelled doors to their left. No. 25 also features a blocked window to its basement on the right, as well as a doorway leading to an alley and the rear of the property. The sashes all have exposed loose frames. Spear-headed iron railings sit upon a plinth above a stone retaining wall. The interiors remain uninspected. The cottages are included in the listing primarily for their group value.
