Description

The chapel, now a Methodist Chapel, was built in 1880, as indicated by the foundation stone. It was designed by Mr Hicks of Redruth. The building is constructed of snecked grey limestone blocks with ashlar quoins and freestone dressings, topped with a slate roof. It is in a Free Gothic style.

The symmetrical gabled south front (facing the ritual west) features a central entrance within a coped gabled stone porch that has corner buttresses. The double doors are made of pitch pine with diagonal boarding and three panels. They are flanked by pilasters supporting a two-centred arch with foiled tracery in the tympanum. To either side of the porch are two engaged, octagonal turrets rising from tall square bases, extending above the gable apex. These turrets have engaged shafts near the top supporting blind arcading, surmounted by pinnacles that may have once had finials. Ground floor lancet windows with foiled tracery are located on either side of the porch. A large central rose window sits above the porch. The corners are defined by angle buttresses.

The interior retains its original configuration, with raked seating and pitch pine benches. A pitch pine rostrum is present, along with its rails. The interior also contains dado panelling, and the plastered ceiling has a hammer beam profile. Cast iron railings surround the property.
