Description

The barn located approximately 100 meters east-south-east of Boskenna Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a grouted scantle slate hipped roof that slopes lower over an outshut at the left-hand end. The barn has a large rectangular plan with two threshing floors and opposing first-floor doorways. A significant feature is the large flight of granite steps leading up to the rear doorway of the principal threshing floor, which is positioned to the left of the middle. The cartshed outshut on the left side is likely a slightly later addition.

The barn stands two storeys high, with unaltered elevations that retain most of the original openings. The west-north-west front has five windows, with four ground floor doorways (one of which is blocked) and loading doorways above two of these doorways. There is a very small ground floor window and slightly larger windows on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
