Description
Penhale Farmhouse is a farmhouse that was formerly cottages, dating from the 18th century or earlier. It features cob walls with thatched roofs and brick end chimneys. The building is L-shaped with a stair turret at the angle. It has two storeys and three windows. The door is off-centre to the right, with a blocked doorway to the left. The windows are four-paned sashes, positioned slightly irregularly, and have wooden lintels. The wing of the building has irregular openings. The stairwell retains a 12-paned casement window that is hinged from the middle. Inside, there are partly blocked fireplace openings and open beamed ceilings, with lapped dovetailed collars in the roof of the wing. There is also a well located across the road to the north.
