Description
The stables, located approximately 22 metres west of The Royal Standard, date from the mid-19th century. They feature painted rubble walls and a half-hipped grouted scantle slate roof over the two-storey section, with a gable end roof on the single-storey stables at the rear. The overall layout is L-shaped, consisting of rectangular stables or loose boxes with a loft at the front and single-storey stables adjoining at the rear left. The north front has a central doorway that is partly blocked, with a loading or winnowing doorway above it. There are small ventilator windows on the ground floor to the right and on the first floor to the left. At the rear, a flight of granite steps leads up to the central first floor loading or winnowing doorway. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
