Description
Trebithick is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, likely incorporating parts of an earlier building, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed from roughly coursed slate-stone, with the end walls and a 19th-century addition rendered. The roof is slate, hipped to the right of the main range. The building has a basic L-plan layout, which includes a two-storey, mid to late 19th-century gabled addition at right angles to the rear on the left.
The main range has a two-storey catslide outshut to the left. On the right side, there are 24-paned glazing bar sash windows on each floor, with a horned 12-paned sash directly above. The central late 19th-century gabled porch is made of red brick and features a half-glazed outer door with stained glass margin lights and an inner four-panel door. There is also a horned 12-paned sash window to the left on the ground floor. All windows are topped with wood lintels.
The building has a stone ridge stack with slate drips and chamfered capping to the left, a tall integral end stack to the left, and an integral stack with a red brick shaft at the rear right corner. A straight joint is visible at the rear. The interior could not be inspected during the last survey in January 1988, but it is likely to be of interest, with the right ground-floor room noted to have panelled window shutters.
