Description

Trecarrell Bridge is a bridge over the River Inny, built around 1850 and reconstructed after a flood in 1847. It is made of roughly coursed slate-stone with granite coping and dressings. The bridge features a single segmental arch with ashlar voussoirs that extend to the soffit and a projecting keystone. There is a slightly ramped string course and square corner piers. The long abutments on the Linkinhorne side have hen and cock coping that follows the curve of the road. The bridge measures approximately 16 metres in length and about 4 metres in width. The parapet walls are about 1.5 metres high, constructed from rubble with chamfered granite coping.
