Description
This barn, located approximately 20 metres north-west of Chyenhal Farmhouse, is likely a granary over stables or shippons, dating from the early 19th century, with a date of 188- noted on plaster under the roof slates. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and features a grouted scantle slate three-quarter hipped roof. The barn has a long rectangular plan, consisting of a two-storey section on the left and an integral single-storey section on the right.
The north-west front displays a symmetrical arrangement of openings on the left side, including a doorway and a loading/winnowing doorway above, flanked by two small window openings on each floor. There is an additional doorway on the right side of the two-storey part. The single-storey section on the right has three doorways, with the left-hand doorway being partly blocked and fitted with a window. All openings are original and unaltered, featuring some old ledged doors. The interior has not been inspected.
