Description
The barn, likely a granary or hayloft over shippons, was probably built in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of dressed granite to the front and granite rubble elsewhere, with a scantle slate roof and gable ends. The plan is rectangular with a splayed corner at the front left. Originally, there were likely two similarly sized shippons on the ground floor, now forming a single room, and a large loft above. The two-storey east north-east front has three windows to the first floor and four to the ground floor. Doorways are located towards the left and right of the front. A loading doorway is positioned above the left-hand doorway, with a window above the other. The original ventilated and ledged doors, alongside a ventilated window remain in small openings. The interior retains its original floor structure and probably the original roof structure, although this has not been inspected.
