Barn At Approximately 10 Metres South Of Lower Chypraze Farmhouse

The barn, located approximately 10 metres south of Lower Chypraze Farmhouse, is likely a granary over a shippon and dates from the mid 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a grouted scantle slate roof with gable ends. The barn has a rectangular plan with its main openings on the higher north-east side, which includes a flight of external ramp with steps.

The exterior is two storeys high, with a two-window arrangement on the north-east front. There is a large ramp on the left and in the middle, with a doorway to the right of the middle, accessed from a porch created by the landing of the steps at the top of the ramp. Above this is a loading or winnowing doorway, which is opposite the rear doorway. The ground floor has small ventilator windows, while the first floor features larger windows with shutters and glazed hoppers. The barn also includes ledged doors.
