Description
The wash-house, traphouse, service cottage, and cartshed at the rear of Cosawes Pascoe Farmhouse date from the mid to late 19th century. The structure is built of painted rubble with granite and brick detailing, topped with scantle slate and dry Delabole slate roofs. The cartshed on the left and the left side of the cottage feature hipped ends, and there are brick chimneys, including one over the right gable end of the cottage and an axial chimney between the traphouse and wash-house.
The building has a long rectangular layout, consisting of a two-bay cartshed on the left, a two-room cottage to the right, and the traphouse and stable to the right of the cottage, with the wash-house on the far right. The cottage is two stories tall, while the other sections are single story. It likely retains its original ledged doors and features 2-pane, 2-light casement windows in their original openings, with unaltered elevations. The cartshed has an open front with two bays supported by a granite monolithic pier. The cottage has a symmetrical two-window front with a central doorway, while the traphouse includes a wide trap doorway on the left, spanned by a segmental brick arch, and a stable doorway on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
