3/41 Headstone of Mary Barre 8m to south of south east corner of south aisle of Church of St Ildierna GV II

Headstone. 1779. In memory of Mary, wife of John Barre. Slate headstone with round-head. Inscribed with 'MEMENTO MORI' above angels head with 2 doves below. Hourglass and figure blowing arrows at heart. Well engraved with inscription in lower case lettering with serifs. 2 verses below first verse. 'Why do we mourn departing Friends Or Make at Death's Alarms ? Tis but the voice that Jesus sends To call us to his Arms'.
