Description

House. Dating from the late 17th or early 18th century, this house is constructed of painted and rendered stone rubble and cob, with a rag slate roof featuring gable ends. A stone rubble end stack is located on the right-hand side. The original plan likely consisted of two rooms and a cross passage, with a smaller unheated room, previously a dairy, on the left, and a larger hall kitchen heated by the end stack on the right. A small lean-to outshut was added to the left-hand end in the 19th century. The two-storey exterior has a largely symmetrical two-window front. The entrance is situated to the left of centre, sheltered by a 19th-century shallow gabled porch. It is flanked by a 20th-century casement window to the left and a two-light casement window to the right. Two further 20th-century casement windows are found on the first floor. The left-hand end features the aforementioned lean-to outshut. The interior has not been inspected.
