Description

The Gallaway tomb, located approximately 5 metres east of the south aisle of the Church of St Erth, is an early 19th-century chest tomb dedicated to Walter Gallaway and his sons: Walter, who died on November 19th, 1801, aged 7; Moses, who died on June 9th, 1804, aged 3; and William, who died in 1846, aged 55. The tomb features granite ashlar sides and a cambered granite lid, with an incised slate plaque that is now detached on one side. It has a rectangular shape.
