WERRINGTON SX 38 NW 9/266 Two barns forming west side of yard - at Ham Mill Farm

GV II

Two barns. Mid C19. Stone rubble. Corrugated asbestos roof to barn on left which has hipped ends. Lower rag slate roof to barn on right with hipped end. Plan: Line of two rectangular-plan bank barns which form the west side of the farmyard at Ham Mill. The ground rises to rear and there is a line of open stalls forming a wing to the rear of the left hand barn. Exterior: Two storeys. The left hand barn is set slightly forward and has a higher roof. The front elevation was altered when the wide two-storey opening was partly blocked and slate hung on the first floor where there is now a 3-light window and plank double doors on the ground floor. The right hand side has stable-type doors on the ground and first floor. The barn to right has wide double doors to right of centre with door and window to left and window to right. First floor with door to left and three windows with timber louvers. Interior: not inspected.
