Description

This quay, dating from the 18th century, is primarily constructed from vertically-set shale rubble with dressed granite copings that are secured with iron staples. It faces Mylor Creek and extends towards the bank at the eastern end, featuring a square corner. It is believed that Dutch engineers may have been involved in the construction of earlier versions of this type of quay in the 17th century. While it is a simple structure, it holds significance for the development of Mylor Bridge as a port.
