Description

This is a house dating to the early 19th century. It is constructed of shale with granite quoins, sills, and lintels, and has a hipped roof covered in asbestos slate, with brick chimneys on the side walls. The house is arranged with a slightly larger living room on the left and a reception room on the right, connected by a passage leading to the central staircase. A single-storey lean-to was added in the 19th century to the right, with a 20th-century addition and a lean-to at the rear. The west front has nearly symmetrical three-window arrangement, featuring original hornless 16-pane sashes, except for a replacement 16-pane sash with horns over the entrance. The roughly central doorway has an original panelled door and a shallow wooden porch with a shouldered arched head and pierced spandrel brackets. The interior remains uninspected.
