Farm Buildings At Approximately 10 Metres From Penwarne Barton Farmhouse

The farm buildings located approximately 10 metres from Penwarne Barton Farmhouse date from the mid-19th century and consist of a cart shed and an adjoining structure, likely a mangel house. They are constructed from granite, elvan, and Killas rubble, featuring granite dressings. The roofs are made of corrugated asbestos over the cart shed, which has one hipped end, and a grouted scantle slate roof with one half-hipped end over the mangel house. Clay ridge tiles are present on all roofs.

The buildings have an L-shaped plan, with a 3-bay open-fronted cart shed in the short arm of the L and a longer mangel house in the other arm. The mangel house has two wide doorways on its front (southwest) side and three windows on the rear. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear of the cart shed. The exterior is single-storey and largely unaltered, except for the rear of the cart shed, which is partly obscured by the extension. The front of the mangel house features two wide doorways, each with a pair of old ledged doors. The cart shed has an open front where the wall-plate is supported by two granite monoliths. The interior has not been inspected.
