Description

Gullacombe Farmhouse is a late 18th century farmhouse with a mid 19th century addition and a few later alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble, with the front upper level finished in slate-hanging. The roof is made of asbestos slate and features gable ends with stacks that have brick shafts and cornices. The building has a two-room plan with a central entrance, and each room is heated by a gable end stack.

The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front. The upper floor windows are late 18th century two-light casements with 15 panes and horizontal sliding hinges. The ground floor features a central porch with a hipped slate-hung roof and an inner half-glazed door from the 19th century. To the left, there is a small single storey addition from the 20th century, while to the right, there is a one storey and loft outshut, also slate-hung at the upper level, which includes a four-pane light. The right side has a plain door in the outshut with strap hinges and another four-pane light. The upper gable end is rendered. The left side has a 20th century window at ground floor level. At the rear, the outshut features an external stone stair leading to a plain door, with a two-light window to the left and two roof lights. The interior has not been inspected.
