Description

The goose houses located approximately 40 metres from Alsia Mill are likely from the 18th or early 19th century. They are constructed from granite rubble and feature roughly-hewn granite monoliths. The structure consists of two approximately circular chambers built into a stone and earth bank. Each chamber has monolithic jambs and lintels. The right-hand chamber is larger and includes holes cut into the jambs for a hanging door, which is currently missing. This building is a complete example of a rare type of structure.
