Description
This is a stone post located approximately 100 metres south of the former kennels and 600 metres west of Tehidy House in Illogan, Tehidy Park. It is likely from the mid-18th century and is made of dressed granite. The post is square in section and stands about 2 metres high, featuring chamfered corners and a pyramidal top. The west side of the post is inscribed with the words "TO THE HOUSE 1 MILE." It is probably related to the protection of shooting rights, as noted in the book "Tangye Tehidy and the Bassets."
