Description

The gate piers at Truthan House are located at the south-east corner of the yard and likely date from the 17th century or early 18th century. They are made of granite and consist of two widely spaced piers on either side of the driveway. Each pier features a square granite monolith, a necking stone, an ogee cornice stone, and a tapering base stone that supports a turned stalked ball finial. The piers have a megalithic character and stand approximately 4 meters high.
