Description

Lower Nansloe Farmhouse and the attached coach house, along with the forecourt walls, are likely 18th century structures that were extended in the early and mid-19th century. They are built from granite and other rubble, featuring shallow segmental brick arches, which probably replaced timber lintels in the oldest central part. The farmhouse has a stuccoed front on the left side, while the coach house is constructed from rubble with granite dressings. Both buildings have grouted scantle slate roofs and brick end stacks.

The farmhouse has a shallow depth plan, with the coach house projecting forward on the right. It is two storeys high and has an overall four-window range. The original farmhouse features a nearly symmetrical three-window front with a central doorway, and there is a taller early 19th-century extension on the left that includes a first-floor window above the doorway. The windows are 20th-century copies of horned sashes with glazing bars, except for a 12-pane horizontal-sliding sash above the old doorway, which has a planked door. There is also possibly an original 16-pane hornless sash over another doorway that is accompanied by an open porch with a moulded cornice supported by slender paired columns and a pair of glazed doors.

The coach house, which may have also served as a waggon house, features a central wide doorway with a timber lintel and a loading doorway above it, which has a split ledged door. The interior has not been inspected.
