Description

A pair of early 19th-century houses in St Just in Roseland, originally known as Milton Minor. The houses are constructed with stucco over a rubble core and have hipped roofs covered in asbestos and scantle slates. They feature an axial brick stack. Each house has a rectangular plan with one main room, plus a side and rear wing. The main part of each house is two storeys high, but the wing on the right is single storey.

The south front has a 1:2:1 window arrangement, initially symmetrical, with the two-window fronts flanked by slightly recessed single-storey wings. The left wing has been altered to a two-storey height. The ground floor fronts remain largely intact and are mirror images of each other. Each has a 12-pane hornless sash window in its original opening. A porch with an arched entrance and consoles on the front and sides is present, along with a pointed arched window with intersecting glazing bars, also in original openings, to the right and left. The first floor on the right has a large, late 20th-century plate glass window replacing two original sashes, and a cantilevered flat-roofed verandah has been added. Slightly projecting eaves are present. The interior has not been inspected.
