Description

Pilots Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was formerly used by a river pilot. It features painted slatestone rubble walls and a steep scantle slate roof, which has a large stone gable stack on the left and a smaller stone gable stack over the party wall with No 5 on the right. The cottage has a one-room plan and is two storeys high. The south front has one window, which contains 16-pane horned sashes. To the right of the window, there is a doorway with a boarded door. Additionally, an old 16-pane two-light casement window with pintails for shutters remains on the ground floor of the left gable end. The interiors have not been inspected.
