Description

This row of 11 bollards, located southwest of the Town Hall in St Columb Major, dates from the late 19th century and is made of cast iron. The bollards are arranged in an L-plan and stand about one metre high. They are slender, fluted columns with a circular base and feature two rectangular blocks on the shaft. The upper block displays either a golden hand with a silver ball, symbolizing the St Columb hurling, or a shield adorned with 15 besants, representing the tinners' arms. Each bollard is topped with an acorn finial.
