Description
The Thomas Monument is a headstone located about 8 metres south of the tower of the Church of St Colanus. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of slate. The monument features a rectangular stone with carved Ionic columns on the sides and a round arch at the top, adorned with rays of light at each corner. The arch includes a key block and an inscription that reads "Death spares none." The lettering is well-executed and includes verses dedicated to Alice Thomas, dated 1826.
