Description

This row of cottages, located 20 metres south-west of the Post Office in Egloskerry, likely dates from the mid 18th century to the mid 19th century. They are constructed of stone rubble, with some areas rendered, and feature rag slate roofs with hipped ends and stone rubble axial stacks. The row consists of four cottages with one or two room plans that face the main road through the village. There is an additional range of cottages adjoining the first, which returns to the rear left and includes two or three more cottages with two room plans. The cottages are heated by axial stacks.

The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical window arrangement of 5:1:6. The front range has complete 19th-century two and three-light casements on both the ground and first floors, along with 20th-century doors. The left side features a canted end that curves out below the eaves. The second range at the rear left is set forward, and the ground slopes down towards the back. This range also has 19th-century two and three-light casements and sashes on both floors, accompanied by 19th-century plank doors. The interior has not been inspected. This row of cottages is part of a group located in the centre of Egloskerry village.
