Pair Of Attached Houses About 50 Metres South West Of The Crown Inn

This is a pair of attached houses located about 50 metres southwest of The Crown Inn, dating from the early 19th century with some 20th-century alterations. They are constructed from rendered stone rubble and have a bitumenised slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. The house on the left is smaller than the one on the right. The left house has a two-room plan with a central entrance, while the right house also has a two-room plan, featuring a large room on the left and a smaller room on the right, with an off-centre entrance to the right.

The exterior is two storeys high and nearly symmetrical, presenting a seven-window front on a plinth with a band course. The first floor features seven 20th-century two-light eight-pane casement windows with cambered arches and external shutters. The ground floor has five round-arched windows, each fitted with 20th-century two-light six-pane casements that have radial glazing bars at the top and external shutters. There are also two 20th-century glazed doors with fanlights and 19th-century gabled hoods on brackets, located second from the right and second from the left. The right end of the building is blind, with the plinth and band course continuing around it. Additionally, there is a two-storey rear wing on the right with a hipped roof. The left end of the building abuts the adjoining house. The interior has not been inspected.
