Description

The Austen monument is a headstone located in the churchyard about one metre east of the north transept of the Church of St. Germanus. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of slate. The headstone features a shouldered nowy head with a lined border and bears an inscription dedicated to John Austen and other family members, dated 1793.
