Description
No. 5, including the front pavement, is a detached house dating from the early 19th century, possibly built in 1816 by the Blanchminster Charity. The building is constructed of roughcast stone rubble and features an asbestos tile hipped roof with end stacks that have brick shafts.
The house has a double depth plan with two main front rooms, a central entrance, and likely smaller service rooms at the back. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a symmetrical two-window front. The windows are late 19th century or early 20th century 16-pane sashes, and there are two gabled dormers with original 12-pane sashes. The central doorway features a 19th-century glazed flush panel door and is sheltered by a wooden open porch with latticework panels at the top.
The front garden area includes a pitched cobble path leading up to the house. The rear elevation and interior have not been inspected.
