Description

This is a terrace of four houses and shops dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick with limestone dressings, featuring a brick party wall stack and a pantile roof. The design follows a double-depth plan, with the building arranged over two storeys and an attic. It presents a single-window range to the front. A continuous moulded parapet coping runs along the roofline, and there are 20th-century shop fronts at ground level. The windows are 8/8-pane sashes, set within segmental brick arches. Dormers are located at the front and rear of the building. Large brick stacks are present. The interior has not been inspected. The brick stacks and rear dormers suggest the buildings may be older than the 19th-century front facades. The parapet continues along Nos 1-7 Denmark Street.
