Description
The Horn and Trumpet Public House is a pair of attached houses that have been converted into a single public house. It dates from the mid-18th century and was remodeled in the mid-20th century. The building features a combination of render and brick with limestone dressings, brick party wall stacks, and a pantile roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands three stories tall with a four-window range. The right side has rusticated quoins, while the left side is rendered, both topped with a cornice and a moulded coping beneath a windowless raised brick attic. The public house front was updated in the 20th century, featuring two large first-floor square oriels with glazing bars and keyed lintels above second-floor 6/6-pane sash windows, along with a dormer on the right. Inside, the ground floor has an internal frame of timber posts with pillows supporting timber beams, reflecting its use as a public house.
