Description
19 and 20 St Augustine's Parade are offices built around 1920 in the Edwardian Neoclassical style. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a double-depth plan with three storeys and an attic, arranged in a three-window range. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front.
On the exterior, there are rusticated pilaster strips at the sides leading to the attic, with giant fluted columns on the first and second floors, topped with egg-and-dart capitals. These support an overhanging panelled entablature and a dentil cornice. Steel railings are positioned between the columns, beneath windows that have architraves. The central first-floor window is adorned with a segmental pediment, and there are plain raised aprons below the second-floor windows. The attic features architraves separated by hanging swag strips, a modillion cornice, and a parapet.
The interior has been extensively remodelled, including a right-hand stair.
