Pair of attached houses. c1720. Built by John Price. Brick with limestone dressings, party wall stacks and a pantile roof. Early Georgian style. Each of 3 storeys; 3-window range. Articulated by brick pilasters, moulded strings to each floor and coped parapet. Outer doorways between the end windows, have framed and panelled canopies on brackets, 10-panel door to No.26, 6-panel door to No.25. Windows with brick flat arches with brick keys, to 6/6-pane sashes in flush frames. Slate-hung dormers, full-width to No.25. INTERIOR not inspected, but noted as having good dogleg stairs with column-on-vase balusters, panelled rooms, cornices and 6-panel doors. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached front area railings, and square gas wall lamp at the left-hand corner. Part of a good early Georgian terrace with the slightly later Nos 27-29 (qv). The street was laid out in 1716. Varying plans for different clients, and common elevations.
