Description
Tyneham House is an 18th-century building located on the north side of Bridge Street. It features a stuccoed exterior with a brick eaves cornice and a tiled roof. The house is two storeys tall, with a central section that has three windows and advanced side wings, each with hipped roofs and one window. All windows are sashes, with glazing bars missing only in the lower halves of the ground floor windows. A Doric porch is situated at the center, flanked by three-light sash windows on each side. Above these windows and the door is a well-crafted stone triglyph frieze and cornice.
Tyneham House is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 24 (even) and Nos 1 to 7 (odd) as well as Nos 1 to 3 (consecutive) Willow Place, Bridge Street, and the Town Bridge, which connects Castle Street and Bridge Street. Nos 1 to 3 (consecutive) Willow Place, Bridge Street, and No 22 Bridge Street are also noted for their local interest.
