Description
This is a two-storey house with an attic, dated 1722 on the north wall. It is located in Poole, with an early 19th-century extension now forming No. 11 Market Street. The house is constructed of painted brick, with a tiled roof and stone slate verges. It follows a double-depth plan. The front facade, with a gabled design, features a mid-20th century shop front reconstructed in an early 19th-century style. This shop front has shallow bowed windows with glazing bars and a fascia, with gauged brick segmental arches over the first-floor 9/9-pane sashes and a single 3/3-pane attic sash. The inscription "17/IM/22" is visible on a brick. The left-hand return has a similar arrangement of windows. The interior is reported to have been altered, and includes a wide fireplace and some fielded panelling. Originally, the property included two shop fronts facing New Street, and a large rear gable stack.
