Description

The Guildhall Tavern is an early to mid-19th century house, now a public house, situated on a corner plot in Poole. The exterior is painted brick with a slate hipped roof. The building is two storeys and an attic, featuring a three-window front. The rounded corner has a full-width shop front with pilasters, a fascia, and a cornice, topped by a 16-pane window. Above, an 8/8-pane sash window is flanked by blank panels. A 3/3-pane dormer window is positioned in the roof. The right-hand return has a 2/2 sash window, and the front features 2/2 sash windows. The interior has been altered in the 20th century to create a public house. It is connected internally to number 17. The building’s layout and the presence of the shop front suggest it operated as a public house from at least the mid-19th century.
