Description
Littledown House is a medium-sized mansion built around 1780 for John Dean. The house is constructed of stucco and has three storeys. The main block features three windows across and three windows deep. There is a cornice above the first floor and a cornice with a parapet at the roof. The outer window bays on the south front project, with the ground and first floor windows set back in round-headed arches. The glazing bars on the sashes are intact. A wide portico supported by four Roman Doric columns has a triglyph frieze, with a doorway in the center flanked by pilasters and a window on each side, topped with a rectangular fanlight. The central window bay on the east front is flanked by projecting chimney breasts that act as pilasters, with round-headed arches above the first floor windows. There is a lower service wing to the west.
