Description
Portman Lodge is a picturesque cottage built around 1873 by J B Green for Lord Portman as a lodge to Wentworth Lodge. The building features an asymmetrical design with a ground floor and semi-attics finished in grey roughcast and adorned with stucco dressings, likely built on a concrete base. It has two gables of different sizes on the north, south, and west sides, and one gable on the east, all featuring pierced bargeboards. The roof is covered with slate, and there is a stucco chimney on the ridge. A timber porch and a ground floor bay window are located on the west side, and all windows have casement-headed moulded frames. There are significant modern extensions at the rear.
