Description
The water tower, built around 1869 for the Bournemouth and District Water Company, is a large structure made of brickwork featuring round arches. The bricks are arranged in alternating courses of reddish-brown stretchers and blue headers. It has a round-arched entrance and consists of three main storeys, with round-headed windows arranged in triplets on the ground and first floors, and in quartets on the second floor. The windows on the north and south sides are all blind. Above the ground and first floors, there are double dentil cornices, and a triple dentil main cornice with a projecting top crowns the building. A tank is located on the roof.
